It’s finally Spring here on the Outer Banks – we’ve survived our last Nor’Easter until the Fall and our first tropical depression of the year. For the next four months, it’s beach time. And you know what goes best with a blanket, sun, and surf? That’s right, a book! Come and get ’em!
What We’re Excited About:
All those fun non-book things we get to bring in each year like note cards, t-shirts, and journals!
What We’re Reading:
Carrie – George Washington is Cash Money by Cory O’Brien – “It was funny, kind of vulgar, but funny!”
Kate – Brain on Fire by Susannah Cahalan “I just started it, but it’s told from a very interesting perspective as the author is really a journalist whose using her journalistic abilities to tell about her month of madness that she doesn’t remember.”
Meaghan – just finished The Sleeper and the Spindle by Neil Gaiman – “A beautifully illustrated Neil Gaiman take on two classic fairy tales melding Snow White and Sleeping Beauty into one” – and Sabriel by Garth Nix – “I’m re-reading this series because Nix just released a fourth book and I want to remember what came before. Fabulous middle grade/YA fantasy series!”
