Q: What’s the title of your new book?

A: The Heirloom Brooch and The Heirloom PearlsHeirloom Brooch

Q: Describe the book in one sentence.

A: The Heirloom Brooch tells the story of a treasured family heirloom from the 1860’s to the present time through the lives of nine women, but only the last woman knows it is a fake. The Heirloom Pearls features two women, mother and daughter, as they chafe against Louisville’s society in the 1860’s and 1870’s, but with oh so different consequences.

A: Ten years

Q: Book you wish you could read again for the first time?

A: The Rainbow, D. H. Lawrence

Q: Favorite book and why:

A: Short History of a Small Place by T. R. Pearson because the humor is amazing, the word choices exquisite, and the coming of age story reminded me of the small town I grew up in, Webster, Indiana.

Q: What brings you to the Outer Banks?

A: My family has been vacationing here since the 60’s. We stayed in the old Nags Head Inn before it burnt.
