You’ll fall in love with Maizie and her sometimes abrasive but lovable spunk.” – and Don’t Ever Change by by M. Beth Bloom – “This is the book my 18-year-old self dreamed of; great for fans of John Green and/or Perks of Being a Wallflower [Stephen Chbosky].” – and currently reading Dept. of Speculation by Jenny Offill – “A short book that I could have already easily finished, but I can’t help but savor the language. I don’t want it to end, but I know that when it does, there will be sentences/phrases left in my for a while afterward.”
Lori Jo- just finished The Martin by Andy Weir – “An extremely technical but still highly entertaining account of what an astronaut left for dead on Mars does to survive and try to get back to Earth. Read it before you see the movie this fall!” – and just starting The Fatal Flame by Lindsay Faye – “Finally ready to face the fact that Timothy and Valentine Wilde’s stories will be over when I finish this book.”
Meaghan – just started The Glass Sentence by S. E. Grove – “The first is a new children’s fantasy that is epic in scope; perfect for fans of the Eragon, Harry Potter, and His Dark Materials series.” – and finished Slade House by David Mitchell – “My most favorite-est author ever has written a haunted house book in time for Halloween. Love it!”
Carrie – finished Archenemy by Frank Beddor – “I finally finished the triology!” – The Wicked Will Rise by Danielle Paige [sequel to Dorothy Must Die] – “It was weird, in a good. Same snarky style as the first one, that was a plus!” – Golden Specific by S.E. Grove [Book two of The Mapmaker’s Trilogy] – “It was so good! It blew my mind!” – and started reading The Thinking Woman’s Guide to Real Magic by Emily Croy Barker – “It’s funny and it has a good story.”
