Q: What’s the title of your new book? Booked for Trouble

A: Booked for Trouble: A Lighthouse Library Mystery
Q: Describe the book in one sentence.

A: The national bestselling author of By Book or By Crook returns to the Outer Banks and the Lighthouse Library, where Lucy Richardson must shed light on a shocking murder before the police throw the book at her poor mother.

Q: What books are on your bedside table?

A: Past Praying by Aline Templeton, The Burying Ground by Janet Kellough, and The Inconvenient Indian by Thomas King.

By Book or By CrookQ: How long have you been writing?

A: More than twenty years

Q: Book you wish you could read again for the first time?

A: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkein

Q: Favorite book and why:

A: To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Not just because it’s a marvelous book, pretty much perfect in every way, but my dad gave it to me because he thought it was important that I read it.

Q: What brings you to the Outer Banks?

A: My Lighthouse Library mystery series is set in the Outer Banks. I had never even been here before I began writing the books, but I have since come to love it, and I particularly love coming down to do research and talk about the books and enjoy a vacation at the beach at the same time.
