Meaghan Beasley

Meaghan Beasley is an Island Bookstore Indie Bookseller going on 13 years. She moved to the Outer Banks for what she thought would be a couple of years; but she met a local crabber, fell in love, and now calls these beaches her home. While she reads across all genres and has mountainous piles of books all over her home, Meaghan loves especially to read mysteries, science, sci fi/fantasy, and graphic novels. Meaghan serves the stores as Children’s Buyer, Marketing Coordinator, and Kitty Hawk store manager.

Cindy is going on her sixth year working at Island Bookstore! She absolutely loves this job and being surrounded by books and talking to book buyers about their current reads, authors and favorite books five days a week!

While she’s  drawn mostly to non-fiction (including history, memoirs, business, sports and yummy cook books) Cindy also enjoys plenty of fiction.  She’d love for you to stop by the Duck store to talk about what you’ve been reading!

Michael Lewis Eric Larson

Lauri Weisbecker

Lauri is the third person in her family to work at Island Bookstore.  Usually it’s the children following in their parents footsteps, but this time it’s the reverse – she has followed in theirs.  Both of her daughters have worked (and one still does) for Island Bookstore through their high school years and one of them through her college years. Lauri loves meeting and talking with customers who come from near and far.
When she’s not at work, she enjoys camping with her husband and family and spending as much time as possible in the fresh air.  She enjoys reading several types of genres, including southern literature, historical fiction, biographies, and espionage, to keep it interesting.
Favorite Books:
Anne of Green Gable series – L.M. Montgomery
O Pioneers – Willa Cather
